Barbara Beable

Barbara Beable (born Poulsen; born May 14, 1949 ) is a former New Zealand shot putter and pentathlete .

In 1969 she won the shot put at the Pacific Conference Games .

At the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 , she won silver in the shot put with her personal best of 15.87 m. Four years later, she was fifth in the shot put and fifth in the pentathlon at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974.

In 1977 she was fifth in the shot put at the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf , and in 1978 she was seventh in the pentathlon at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton .

Eight times she was New Zealand champion in the shot put (1968–1971, 1975–1978) and nine times in pentathlon (1966–1969, 1971, 1972, 1975–1977).
