Barbara Howard (athlete)
Barbara Catherine Howard (born May 8, 1920 in Vancouver - † January 26, 2017 ) was a Canadian sprinter .
At the British Empire Games in 1938 , she was sixth over 100 yards and won silver in the 440-yard relay and bronze in the 660-yard relay.
She was the first black athlete to compete for Canada in an international championship. In 2012 she was inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame .
