Barbara Scheuch-Vötterle

Barbara Scheuch-Vötterle (born November 27, 1947 in Kassel ) is a German music publisher. She is the managing director of Bärenreiter-Verlag .

In 1975, after the death of her father Karl Vötterle , she took over the management of the internationally operating company. Together with her husband Leonhard Scheuch , she continues her special commitment to contemporary music, which has been one of the constants in the program since the publishing house was founded .

Scheuch-Vötterle was awarded the Goethe plaque by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art in 1999. In 2005 she received honorary membership of the Society for Music Research , whose association magazine Die Musikforschung is published by Bärenreiter. In the same year Scheuch-Vötterle received honorary membership of the German Music Council . In March 2007 she was appointed honorary professor of the state of Hesse. She is a member of the board of directors of the Kasseler Musiktage .
