Barbara Schwarzfeldt
Barbara Schwarzfeldt (born May 8, 1957 in Krefeld ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.67 m tall and 60 kg heavy athlete started for SV Würzburg 05 .
Life
Schwarzfeldt won five German championships:
- 200 m freestyle: 1974
- 400 m freestyle: 1976
- 200 m dolphin: 1974 and 1975
- 400 m individual medley: 1976
At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , she started the 800 m freestyle and came in 11th place out of 35 participants in 9: 24.89 minutes.
She celebrated her greatest success two years later at the European Championships in Vienna , where she competed in the 200 m dolphin. In 2: 19.71 minutes she only had to admit defeat to the two GDR swimmers Rosemarie Kother (gold in 2: 14.45 minutes) and Anne-Katrin Leucht (silver in 2: 18.45 minutes) and won the bronze medal. For this she was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Walter Scheel .
