history

The Bargouma Dam was built in 2008. For the geotechnical supervision and oversight, the company was LEGENI SA from Niamey responsible. It was built as part of an aid project financed by the African Development Bank for agricultural development in the Zinder region. The aid project lasted from January 2003 to June 2009 and cost a total of 6.4 billion CFA francs . In the course of the project, other dams were realized: the Bakatsiraba dam , the Bani Walki dam , the Goumda Tambari dam , the Kassama dam and the Toumbala dam . The arable land used at the Bargouma Dam grew from two hectares in 2008 to eleven hectares in 2009.
