As bark room one is ancient Egyptian elongated rectangular shrine room or hall with stone plinth for parking of boats called. The barque room was usually located in front of the Naos on the processional axis and was recognizable by the image program with a representation of the divine barque. Occasionally it was split in two and mostly opened onto the offering table room.

The barque room initially had a wooden canopy , but in larger temples it was made of stone and built of masonry . So z. B. in the Red Chapel , the barque room of Philip III. Arrhidaios in Karnak and Alexander the Great in Luxor , the temple of Seti I in Abydos , as well as in Edfu and Dendera .

In Ptolemaic temples of bark room was on the back side by a handling optional. Larger temples had several barge rooms.
