Barloch House

Barloch House is a residential building in the Scottish town of Milngavie in East Dunbartonshire . It is north of the city center at the end of the short Barloch Avenue not far from Cairns Church . In 1978 Barloch House was added to the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B.

Barloch House was built around 1840. It has the architectural features of the waning Georgian era . The two-story Barloch House has lower extensions on either side. The front is divided by three window axes. The window panes are still the original material. The facades are plastered and whitewashed, the edges of the building being contrasted in color. The central entrance area is adorned by pillars . The building ends with a slate-covered gable roof . The annexes on both sides have twin windows and close with hipped roofs .

In 2001 the establishment of a parking lot was approved subject to conditions. An application from 2010 to convert the former depot as living space was withdrawn.
