Barnes Ridge is an 11 kilometer long mountain range in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It extends between the Young Glacier and the Ellen Glacier on the east side of the Sentinel Range in the Ellsworth Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1957 and 1959. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after Stephen Sherwood Barnes (1915-2010), scientific director of the Byrd Station in 1958.
