Barney McGill

Bernard "Barney" McGill (born April 30, 1890 in Salt Lake City , Utah , USA ; † January 11, 1942 in Los Angeles , California , USA ) was an American cameraman .

Life

McGill initially worked as a photographer and camera assistant before becoming chief cameraman after the end of the First World War . He mostly made second-rate films. An exception was Archie Mayos Svengali , for whom McGill was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Cinematography in 1931 .

McGill died in 1942 from a serious illness. In the course of his career he has acted in over ninety films.
