Barney Richmond

Barney Richmond (* around 1930; † 2004 or early 2005) was an American jazz musician ( double bass ).

Barney Richmond played from 1952 in the band of Johnny Hodges , in which he replaced Lloyd Trotman (" Tenderly ", Clef); In 1955 he accompanied the singer Earl King ("That's All I Ask of You"). 1957/58 he worked in New York City a. a. with Earl Knight & George Kelly ("Let It Roll (Let The Good Times Roll)"), Sam "The Man" Taylor and Roy Eldridge (" Embraceable You "), 1962/63 with Gene Ammons (Nothin 'But Soul) , Howard McGhee and Doris Troy . In the field of jazz he was involved in ten recording sessions between 1952 and 1982, most recently with Lawrence Lucie .
