The Barnstaple Municipal Borough was a municipal borough in Devon . It included the parishes of Barnstaple and East Pilton , which was incorporated into Barnstaple in 1974.
history
The borough was created with the Municipal Corporations Act 1835 . With the Local Government Act 1972 , which came into force on April 1, 1974, it became part of the new District of North Devon . In 1911 the district had an area of 2,235 statute acres (approx. 9.1 km² ).
