Baron Birkett

Baron Birkett , of Ulverston in the County Palatine of Lancaster , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was created on January 31, 1958 for the prominent lawyer and judge Sir Norman Birkett . He was one of the British judges at the International Military Tribunal in the Nuremberg trial of the major war criminals . Later he was Lord Justice of Appeal .
