Michael Birkett, 2nd Baron Birkett (born October 22, 1929 in London - † April 3, 2015 ) was a British peer , film producer, theater director and politician.

life and career

Birkett was born on October 22, 1929 to William Norman Birkett, 1st Baron Birkett , and Ruth Nilsson. He attended the Stowe School and the University of Cambridge . He inherited the title of Baron Birkett on February 10, 1962 . Birkett was accepted into the Currier's Company as a Masters between 1975 and 1976.

He lost his seat in the House of Lords under the House of Lords Act in 1999 .

family

Birkett was married to Junia Elliott for the first time on October 13, 1960. She died in 1973. He married Gloria Taylor († 2001) in 1978 and has a son with her, Thomas Birkett (* 1982).
