The Barrenjoey Road is a main road in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales . It connects Mona Vale Road and Pittwater Road in Mona Vale with Palm Beach at the mouth of the Hawkesbury River .

In Mona Vale , where Mona Vale Road (Met-3) and Pittwater Road (Met-10) meet, Barrenjoey Road continues north to the tip of the Palm Beach Peninsula . It leads through the towns of Newport, Bilgola and Avalon . It ends in Plm Beach at the tip of the peninsula. There are around 1,150 private properties along the 15 km long road.

Development status and speed limit

In the Mona Vale the road begins with six lanes. From Newport only a two-lane road leads north, which widens again to four lanes north of Avalon. Shortly before Palm Beach it becomes two lanes again.

The maximum permissible speed over the entire length of the route is 60 km / h.
