Barrett Brown (born August 14, 1981 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American journalist and supporter of the Anonymous collective .
In 2011 it rose to fame in the context of the Stratfor hack attack. In 2015 he was sentenced by a Texas court to a total of five years and three months in prison for assisting the hacker. In addition, Brown has to make a compensation payment of $ 890,000 .
