The Barrierevika (Norwegian for Barrier Bay is) an open bay in the angle between the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Lands and the adjacent West Ice Shelf .
Norwegian cartographers recorded it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . They named it after the now no longer used term "barrier" for ice shelf .
