The Barsten (or Dybbølsten - German  "Düppelstein" ) is a boulder covered with lichen ( Vandreblokk in Danish ), so that it is difficult to recognize the structure of both coarse and fine-grained sections of magmatite . Most of it appears to be fine-grained and reddish ( aplit ). The fine-grained areas appear to be jointed in parallel.

It is located in the street Dybbølsten in Sønderborg east of the "Dybbøl Banker" on the Sundeved peninsula (Eng. Sundewitt) in northern Schleswig in southern Jutland in Denmark . The stone is Denmark's second largest boulder after Dammestenen . It has a circumference of around 26 m and weighs around 130 t. Originally it was even bigger, but pieces were blown off several times.
