Bart Oegema

Bart Oegema (born February 23, 1983 in Amsterdam ; † January 11, 2011 ) was a Dutch cyclist .

Bart Oegema began his career in 2002 after dropping out of a physics degree at the University of Amsterdam with the Dutch cycling team Bert Story-Piels . After two years he moved to Löwik Meubelen-Tegeltoko for one season and then to AVC Aix-en-Provence for three years. In parallel, Oegema studied movement sciences at the Free University of Amsterdam .

In 2006 he won a stage in the Tour de la Martinique and was also third in the overall standings. The next year he was successful on the first section of the Circuit des Ardennes and was also third in the overall standings. In 2008 Oegema drove for the Dutch Continental Team P3 Transfer-Batavus . He then ended his career and worked as a carer.

Oegema died on January 11, 2011 for reasons that have not yet been published.
