Bartholomaeus Praetorius
Bartholomaeus Praetorius (born around 1590 in Marienburg , West Prussia ; died 1623 in Stockholm ) was a German composer and musician who worked at the court of the Elector of Brandenburg . His most important work is New Lovely Paduanen and Galliards for Five Voices , which was published in Berlin in 1616 . In the anthology of old and new music for piano ( Ricordi ) edited by Gino Tagliapietra , a Paduana and a Gagliarda were included in a piano transcription .
