Bartholome Sturzenegger (born September 17, 1650 in Trogen ; † 1709 ; entitled to live in Trogen and later in Gais ) was a Swiss mayor , governor, mayor and delegate from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Bartholome Sturzenegger was a son of infirmary nurse Jakob Sturzenegger and Anna Zellweger. In 1670 he married Anna Heierli, in 1696 his second wife Anna Schiess, daughter of the landlord Jakob Schiess and widow of Hans Conrad Nänni. In 1701 he married Barbara Schiess, daughter of Governor Sebastian Schiess and widow of Pastor Bartholome Zuberbühler. After his marriage, Sturzenegger moved from Trogen to Gais in 1670. He was elected mayor there in 1696. In 1697 he made the leap into the cantonal government . From 1697 to 1698 he was governor. From 1698 to around 1709 he officiated as Ausserrhoder Landammann and from 1698 to 1708 as delegate of the Diet.
