The Barzanji ( Arabic برزنجي, Kurmanji Berzincî , DMG Barazanǧī ), often bar (a) Zanji, Barzinji, Berzinji, Berzencî or Barazenchi transcribed, are sometimes inaccurate as a "trunk" called followers of from the northern Iraqi town of Barzinja ( Barzinjah , province of Sulaimaniya derived) Kurdish Qadiriya - Sheikhs . Sayyid 'Isa Nurbakhsh, who is said to have settled in Barzinja in the 13th century, is considered to be her progenitor .

They must not be confused with the Kurdish Bar (a) zani clan from Barzan ( Arbil province ).
