Baselbieterlied

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Baselbieterlied (original title: Im Baselbieterkränzli ) is the unofficial anthem of the canton of Basel-Landschaft , but it is sung on many occasions .

Meaning and history

The song is sung both on official occasions such as inauguration ceremonies or the celebrations for the release of the military as well as at private events such as club celebrations or general meetings. Special significance it has in the Banntag mentioned Gemarkungsumgängen .

It was composed in 1862 by Wilhelm Senn (1845–1895) in Basellandschaftliche dialect as a club song of the Baselbieter Chränzli . Citizens of Basel-Landschaft who had “emigrated” to Basel gathered in this Heimatverein .

Since the expansion of the canton of Basel-Landschaft to include the Laufental, it should actually be changed, because Schönenbuch is no longer the westernmost town in the canton, but Roggenburg.

The Baselbieter Marsch by Hans Buser uses the melody of the Baselbieterlied in its second half.

song lyrics

From Schönebuech to Ammel,
from Bölche to Rhy,
the Ländli lyt freely and beautifully,
where deheime sy.
The countryside is so cheerful
when everything is green and blooming,
drumm hei m'r au keis land as dear
as euses Basel area,
drumm hei m au keis land as dear
as euses Basel area.

The mountains and valleys grow
so dearly with each other
and over everything use
lies a rock face.
Dört obe pasture d'Herde,
dört unde grows d'r Wy,
no more beautiful than in the Basel area
chas währli niene sy, no
more beautiful than in the Basel area
chas währli niene sy.

The Baselbieter Lütli
si even e fliss'ge Schlag,
si create and you would like
as much as everyone likes.
The one makes Bändel,
the other one creates the field,
but alli sy, if it always goes,
very funny uf d'r Wält,
but alli sy, if it always goes,
even funny uf d'r wält. I sit down

from the Basel bidder
and tell him öppe no
he säg nu: «I
know luege …», he can't saw «Jo».
But tuesch him öppe froge,
"Wit you ystoh for revenge?", It
doesn’t say that me lie well,
do saw alli “Jo”, it
doesn’t say that me lie well,
do saw alli “jo”.

High German transmission

From Schönenbuch to Anwil ,
from Belchen to the Rhine ,
the little country
where we are at home is free and beautiful .
This little country is so friendly
when everything is green and in bloom, that's
why we don't love any country as much
as our Basel area , that's
why we don't love any other country as much
as our Basel area.

Mountains and valleys alternate
with each other so lovely,
and
some rock faces look beyond everything .
The herds graze up
there, the wine grows down there,
no, there
really is nowhere
more beautiful than in the Basel area , no, there is really nowhere more beautiful than in the Basel area
.

These people from Basel
are a very hard-working breed,
they work and they work
as much as everyone likes.
Some make ribbons (silk ribbons, also known as " trimmings " known),
the others working in the field,
but all are, whenever it comes,
even funny in the world,
but all are, whenever it comes,
even funny at the World.

People say about the Basel bidder
and sometimes repeat after him that
he just says: "We will see ...",
he couldn't say: "Yes".
But if you ask him:
“Do you want to stand up for the law?”,
It doesn't mean that you want to see,
everyone says “yes”,
it doesn't mean that you want to see,
everyone says “yes”.
