Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II ( Malayalam ബസേലിയോസ് മാർത്തോമ്മാ പൗലോസ്_ദ്വിതിയൻ }; born August 30, 1946 in Mangad , Thrissur , Kerala as KI Paul ) is the reigning "Catholicos of the East and the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas " of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church .

Life

On June 21, 1973 he was made a priest by Yuhanon Mar Severios, on May 14, 1983 by Mathews Mar Coorilos to the Ramban and on May 15, 1985 to the Bishop (with the name Paulose Mar Milithios) in the Puthiyacavu St. Mary's Church by Baselios Marthoma Mathews I and became first bishop and in 1991 Metropolitan of Kunnamkulam . On September 27, 2006, Mar Milithios was elected as the designated successor of the Catholicos of the East. On November 1, 2010 he was enthroned as the new Catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church after the resignation for reasons of age by Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Didymos I. He is the 8th Catholic after the establishment of the Indian Catholic in 1912 and the 21st Malankara Metropolitan.
