The Basketball Regionalliga Südost e. V. (RLSO for short) is an umbrella organization that manages regional league games in Bavaria, Saxony and Thuringia.

history

The association was founded on February 20, 2010. In July 2017, Michael Erlwein from Erlangen replaced Winfried Gintschel as RLSO chairman.

tasks

The regional basketball associations of Bavaria , Saxony and Thuringia are permanent members of the association.

The highest divisions managed by the Basketball Regionalliga Südost are the 1st Regional Southeast Men and the Women’s Regional League. In addition, the association is responsible for the 2nd Regionalliga North and South (both male) and the RLSO championships in the senior game classes over 35 and over 40. Furthermore, the RLSO is responsible for organizing the regional youth championships as well as training and promoting referees.

The association is headed by a board of directors, which includes not only the chairman and deputy, but also specialist managers for youth, referees and press. Within the RLSO there are the areas of sports organization / match operations, referees, finances / administration, public relations and youth.
