Winfried Gintschel

Winfried Gintschel (born February 15,  1962 ) is a German basketball official .

Life

Gintschel studied English at the University of Minnesota in the United States and from 1983 to 1988 at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, history, geography, German and sports for teaching purposes.

From 2003 to 2015 he held the office of chairman of the Bavarian Basketball Association (BBV) and was appointed honorary president of the BBV when he left this position in April 2015.

From May 2009 he became a technical inspector at the world basketball association FIBA . He was also in 2015 worked for the FIBA as an instructor and the German Basketball Association Member of the referee Referates for the basketball league . In the Bundesliga he was already active as a commissioner and referee trainer from 2004. From 2015 he was a member of a joint elite sports competence committee of the German Basketball Federation, the Basketball Bundesliga, the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga and the regional associations, which advised the leagues and associations.

In his main job as a teacher, he rose to the position of vice principal at the Heuchelhof secondary school in Würzburg (later renamed the Heuchelhof secondary school), and later became headmaster.
