Map with all coordinates: The Bass Highway is a trunk road in the south of the Australian state of Victoria . It connects the South Gippsland Highway south of Lang Lang with the Strzelecki Highway in Leongatha , which is again on the South Gippsland Highway.

Approx. 3 km south of Lang Lang the road branches off to the south from the South Gippsland Highway (M420) and thus follows the east coast of the Western Port . The first 9 km are still four lanes, then the road becomes two lanes. The following stretch of road to the south provides access to the two islands in Western Port, French Island and Phillip Island .
Shortly after the last junction, the road turns south-east and leads to Wonthaggi and Inverloch . In Inverloch on Venus Bay , the Bass Highway turns northeast inland and again reaches the South Gippsland Highway (A440) at Leongatha . Its continuation to the northeast is the Strzelecki Highway (B460).
