The Bassaka Air is a 2014 founded airline from Cambodia , which only since the end of October 2018 charter flights carried out.

history

The airline was founded in 2013 as PP Air , but was renamed Bassaka Air even before the Cambodian State Secretariat for Civil Aviation (SSCA) issued the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in October 2014 . The flight operations began in December 2014 with domestic flights from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap , followed by the first international flight to the Chinese casino city of Macau in May 2015 , with Bassaka Air working together with the Chinese travel company China International Travel Services. In 2016, Australian analysts suspected that the airline might even cease domestic flight operations because the connection to China would be more profitable and domestic flight operations would only have started in order to achieve enough flight hours to obtain Chinese certification. A bitter price war raged on the destination Phnom Penh – Siem Reap in 2015, so that the price of a ticket was only 1 US dollar in additional tax at times. Nevertheless, Basaak Air did not cease domestic operations.

Scheduled traffic was completely discontinued at the end of October 2018, but Bassaka Air continues to operate charter flights.

Destinations

Bassaka Air's hub was Phnom Penh. In Cambodia, the company only flew to Siem Reap, the international destinations were all in China . There were flights to Macau, Qingdao and Xi'an . The offer was aimed at Chinese gamblers who were to be brought to Naga World , the only integrated hotel-casino-entertainment complex in Cambodia.
