Bassem Hemeida (born March 28, 2000 ) is a Qatari hurdler who specializes in the 400 meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Bassem Hemeida gained his first international experience at the Junior Asian Championships 2018 in Gifu , where he won the silver medal in the hurdles in 50.55 s and finished fourth in the Qatari 4 x 100 meter relay in 40.95 s. He then won the silver medal in 49.59 s at the U20 World Championships in Tampere . The following year he finished fourth at the Asian Championships in Doha with a new personal best of 49.45 s. In addition, he won the bronze medal behind the teams from Japan and China with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 03.95 minutes. With the relay he also took part in the World Championships there in October and retired there with 3: 06.25 minutes in advance.
