Bastav ( Serbian Cyrillic : Бастав) is a village in western Serbia . The village lies west of the municipality capital Osečina . Bastav used to be called Mali Bratačić.

Geography and population

The river Pecka flows through the village area . Bastav is located in the Opština Osečina , in the Okrug Kolubara in western central Serbia . The village had 474 inhabitants at the 2011 census, compared with 591 in 2002. According to the last three population statistics, the number of inhabitants continues to fall.

The population is made up of Serbian Orthodox Serbs . Two Roman Catholic Slovenes also live in Bastav. The place consists of 178 households.

Infrastructure

Bastav has an old primary school and a village shop. In the village is the listed house, including the surrounding utility buildings by Teodor (Tešman) Soldatović from the 18th century .
