Bath Island is a small island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the group of the Aitcho Islands in the English Strait , it lies north of Emeline Island . Together with Cricklewood Island and Taunton Island , it forms the group of the Riksa Islands .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013. It is named after the city of Bath in the county of Somerset , where departments of the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office were temporarily stationed during the Second World War .
