Bathynias (Βαθύνιας) is the ancient name of a river in the Thracian hinterland ( Eastern Thrace ) of Byzantium ( Istanbul ).

The river is mentioned by Pliny , Ptolemy and Strabo . It is probably identical with the river Bithyas mentioned by Appian . Since the middle of the 18th century it has been identified with the Sazlı Dere, which flows east of Yarımburgaz into the Bay of Küçükçekmece .
