Battleaxe is an English New Wave of British Heavy Metal band from Sunderland that was formed in 1981, split up in the early 1990s and reunited in 2010.
history
The band was formed in early 1981. After a short time, the Guardian Records label became aware of the band. This was followed by recordings for a compilation . She was also included on the Roxcalbur compilation with two songs, which also featured Satan and Black Rose . This increased awareness of the band, which led to radio and TV appearances. As a result, she reached a contract with Music for Nations , where the debut album Burn This Town was released in 1983. In 1984 the band went back to the studio to record the second album Power from the Universe . After a few more years of activity and various line-up changes, the band broke up in the early 1990s. In 2010 the band got together again.
style
The band plays classical music of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, with the rough vocals and the fast playing speed being particularly characteristic.
