The Oberkülheim farmhouse museum is a private open-air museum owned by the Clemens family. It is located in Bergisch Gladbach in the Bärbroich district .

history

The Clemens couple began to build up a folklore collection in the early 1950s . This gave rise to the idea of ​​building a private open-air museum. In 1973 a historic courtyard in the Rhein-Sieg district was acquired , which was to give way to a new housing estate. After the demolition, the courtyard was reconstructed true to the original on the property in Oberkülheim. Gradually it was supplemented by other buildings.

The museum was closed at the end of 2018, a reopening is uncertain.

The facility consists of a shed with large and small agricultural equipment , the courtyard entrance, the house chapel , the bakery with attached "heart house" , a wash house with an iron collection , the beehive and the draw well with over 1500 finds from the well. Several living rooms, fully furnished with original antique furniture and fittings, bring the past back to life.
