The Baumieserhof is a former estate and hamlet in the area of the town of Langenselbold in the Main-Kinzig district , Hesse . Since the 13th century, the farm has been used as a farm under different owners.

Geographical location

The Baumieserhof is located on a narrow road that branches off the Langenselbold - Niedergründau road to the south and leads to Hüttengesäß , northeast of the Langenselbold core town.

history

The Baumieserhof was first mentioned in a document in 1238, when Pope Gregory IX. listed the possessions of the Selbold monastery . The Baumieserhof served alongside two other courtyards in the area to supply this canon monastery . After the fall of the Selbold monastery in the course of secularization in the 16th century, the farm fell into the possession of the Counts of Isenburg-Birstein and was leased to various operators from then on. Later the Isenburg-Birstein family took over the farm at the behest of the German imperial government as a princely farm.

After the Second World War , the federal government enacted the Burden Equalization Act . The law stipulated that large landowners had to surrender part of their property to displaced persons , which also affected the Isenburg-Birstein family. In order not to have to give up part of each farm, the owners left the entire Baumieserhof with 1.54 km² of usable agricultural area to the federal government in order to be able to keep all other farms in their possession. While most of the farm was taken over by displaced farmers, the Odenwald farmer Paul Butz bought a building on the property as well as 40 hectares of the associated land and set up a new farm there.

This business is now in the third generation and produces and sells agricultural products, especially pork and sausage products from our own slaughter and production. The company has set up a farm shop for direct sales on the site.
