Baun is an Indonesian town in Desa Teunbaun ( Westamarasi District , Kupang District , East Nusa Tenggara Province ). It is located in the southwest of the island of Timor at an altitude of 254  m . The majority of the population belongs to the Atoin Meto ethnic group , but speaks a special dialect of Uab Meto with Amarasi .

In Baun is the residence of the Amarasi Rajas . Until 1962, Amarasi was still a self- governed territory ( Swapraja ) within Indonesia.
