The mound of Baunogenasraid ( Irish : Bánóg na Sráide ) was excavated in 1972. It is entered as a tumulus on the maps of County Carlow in Ireland and consisted of a round hill about 22.0 m in diameter and four meters high, which was, however, somewhat leveled.

A massive Linkardstown- type stone box, covered by a heavy capstone, was found under the mound , which was located in the middle of a stone circle about 10.0 m in diameter. A second stone circle about 11.5 m in diameter touches the inner circle in the south, while the outer circle, about 15.0 m in diameter and stones about one meter high, touches the second circle in the north. All stone circles were invisible in the tumulus. In some places it was possible to prove that there was a dry- walled hill border outside the outer stone circle . The skeleton of an adult male "of astonishing size" was found in the stone box. The gifts consisted of an ornately decorated, round-bottomed Linkardstown-type bowl (as found in Ballykeel County Armagh ) and a small perforated object made of gagat or brown coal .

Ten earth burials were discovered in the upper layers of the hill (five cremations, five body burials). Apart from a single plano-convex flint chip , there were no additions. A jar shattered by a bulldozer allows the conclusion that the ten burials belong to the Early Bronze Age .

Nearby is the Glenoge menhir .
