Bavarian Integration Council

The Bavarian Integration Council (BIR) is a specialist body made up of migration and welfare associations that deals with questions of integration policy in Bavaria . It was brought into being in January 2010 on the initiative of Martin Neumeyer (politician) , the then integration officer of the Bavarian state government . The committee is supposed to bring together all the important actors involved in integration policy in Bavaria from the areas of society , politics and economy and to further develop integration policy in the Free State in a practice-oriented manner.

The Bavarian Integration Council has 90 members who are appointed by the Integration Commissioner of the Bavarian State Government. In ad hoc committees, the members work together with external experts to develop recommendations for the Bavarian State Government , the Bavarian State Parliament and other institutions in the Free State dealing with integration issues for the further development of integration policy in Bavaria.
