history

The first edition of the Bayerischer Zahnärzteblatt was published in 1962 as a newsletter of the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists . Since March 1963 the journal was published as a joint publication of the dental corporations in Bavaria. From September 1974 to 1998 and from September 2001 to December 2004 the Free Association of German Dentists, State Association of Bavaria, was co-editor of the BZB. Between 1999 and June 2001 the Bavarian State Dental Association published its own newsletter: Dentists in Bavaria (ZBay). Since January 2005 the BZB has been published jointly by the Chamber and the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists.

The first issue of the BZBplus was published in July 2018.
