The park is located in the Schwabing-West district south of Luitpoldpark within a street block. In north-south direction it extends between Karl-Theodor-Straße and Clemensstraße, to the west it is bounded by the buildings on Hiltensbergerstraße and to the east by the tennis facility of the Grün-Weiß tennis club. In the southwest corner of the street block is the elementary school named after the park on Bayernplatz.

The approximately three hectare park was created in 1911. In the center is an elliptical, tree-free lawn, the other lawns in the park are tree-covered. In the park there is a playground, a stick shooting range and a statue Daphne created in 1979 by Undine Werdin and named after the figure Daphne from Greek mythology .
In addition to the adjacent primary school, the surrounding park license area is also named after Bayernplatz.
