Bayernwarte
The Bayernwarte is an observation tower in the Bavarian Forest on the Dieberg near Furth im Wald , Cham district .
The observation tower was built in 1974/75 by the Furth im Wald mountain rescue service with grants from the city of Furth im Wald and the Cham Nature Park Association. The tower stands on the Dieberg ridge near the border with the Czech Republic at 639 m. The tower itself is a wooden structure on concrete foundations with a height of 20 m. This allows a view of the surrounding mountains of the Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest . You can see the high arch with the two towers, as well as the Čerchov , also with a radar tower on top. The ascent is from the parking lot approx. 1 km away, only the final ascent is steep.
