Coordinates: 31 ° 55 ′ S , 115 ° 54 ′ E The City of Bayswater is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . Bayswater is part of the metropolis of Perth , the capital of Western Australia. The area is 33 km² and has almost 65,000 inhabitants (2016).
Bayswater is north of the Swan River about five to twelve kilometers northeast of downtown Perth . The seat of the City Council is in the Morley district in the center of the LGA, where around 21,500 people live (2016).

The Bayswater Council has eleven members. The members are elected by the residents of the four wards (three each from the North, West and Central Ward, two from the South Ward). The council chairman and mayor of the city are also recruited from among the councilors.
