Beate Jochimsen

Beate Jochimsen (* 1969 in Berlin ) is a German economist and university lecturer.

Live and act

Jochimsen studied economics, philosophy and history at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Cologne (diploma) as well as European Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (MSc econ). She did her doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin .

From 2000 to 2001 she headed the senator's office of the Berlin Senator for Finance, then went back to science and worked as a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin and as an associate at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB).

In 2010 she completed her habilitation at the Free University of Berlin. She is a professor for general economics , especially finance , at the Berlin School of Economics and Law .

Research and work focus

Jochimsen's research focuses on the areas of political economy , fiscal federalism , financial equalization , sustainable development of public budgets, building and organizing institutions / bureaucracies, tax assessments and health economics .
