Beatrice Fihn (* 1982 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish lawyer and has been the director of the International Campaign for the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) since July 1, 2014 . ICAN was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on October 6, 2017 .

Life

Beatrice Fihn has until 2008 at the University of Stockholm in particular international relations studies with Bachelor Accounts. During this time she did an internship with the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), where she was involved in the work of the UN Conference on Disarmament and the UN Human Rights Council. She then worked at a bank in Geneva and studied international law at University College London with a degree in L.LM. ( Master of Laws ). After a brief position at the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP), she returned to WILPF, where she headed the WILPF's Reaching Critical Will for four years. She eventually came to ICAN as a manager and became its general secretary in 2014.
