Beaufoy Ridge is a mountain ridge on the south coast of Coronation Island in the Archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . With a height of 650 m at its northwestern end, it rises on the west side of the Sunshine Glacier immediately north of Iceberg Bay .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out the naming following a survey lasting from 1948 to 1949. It is named after the sloop Beaufoy of London , with which the Scottish captain Michael McLeod reached the South Orkney Islands on December 12, 1821 as part of James Weddell's second Antarctic voyage (1821-1822).
