Beaumont is an impact crater on the front of the moon on the western edge of Mare Nectaris , east of Catharina crater and northwest of Fracastorius . The crater is relatively flat, heavily eroded, and the crater floor is uneven.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French geologist Léonce Élie de Beaumont .
