The Beaver River ( English for " beaver river") is a left tributary of the Liard River in the Canadian Yukon Territory and in the province of British Columbia .
The Beaver River rises in the Logan Mountains , the southern part of the Selwyn Mountains , in the southeast of the Yukon Territory. In the upper reaches it flows mainly in an easterly direction through the mountains. It turns gradually to the southeast in the middle reaches and runs south in the lower reaches. It picks up the Whitefish River from the left. The Beaver River in British Columbia covers the last 40 kilometers. The Crow River flows into the river from the right. A little later, 25 km northwest of Nelson Forks , the Beaver River reaches the Liard River.
