Beaverdell is a settlement ( Designated Place ) on the West Kettle River in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia in Canada . The village is the only significant settlement on Highway 33 , between its beginning in Rock Creek and the end in Kelowna .

The Beaverdell Range , which belongs to the Okanogan Highland and thus to the Columbia Mountains , was named after Beaverdell .

history

Originally the settlement was called Beaverton , but was then merged with the place Rendell to Beaverdell at the beginning of the 20th century .

Demographics

The 2016 census showed a population of 151 inhabitants for the settlement, after the 2011 census still showed a population of 121 inhabitants for the municipality. The population increased by 24.% compared to the last census in 2011 and thus developed above the provincial average, with a population increase of 5.6% in the province. In the census period 2006 to 2011, the number of inhabitants in the municipality had already decreased by 43.2%, while the provincial average increased by 7.0%.

At the 2016 census, the average age of the residents was 48.8 years, well above the provincial average of 42.3 years. The median age of the residents was determined to be 55.1 years. The median age of all residents in the province in 2016 was 43.0 years. For the 2011 census, a median age of 55.2 years was determined for the residents of the municipality and 41.9 years for the residents of the province.
