The Bednarz Cove is a bay on the Budd Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It is located on the south side of the Mitchell Peninsula .
It was first mapped using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in 1947 and 1948 during Operation Highjump and Operation Windmill . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1963 after Donald Francis Bednarz (1930-1973), who was the senior electrical engineer at Wilkes Station in 1958.
