Begamganj is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh . Begamganj is located in the center of the state and thus also near the geographical center of India.
The city is part of the Raisen district . Begamganj has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 18 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 34,031 inhabitants, of which 17,351 were men and 16,840 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 62%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 84.49%, well above the national average.
