Purpose and aim

In the afterword of the first volume, the concerns of the series were set out as follows:

"The German Evangelical Church knows from their Lord sent to the shattered its entire structure to its outer and inner existence struggling to align in a basic tumbling conversion nascent German people their applied embassy and indeed be positioned so that this people this message grasp and understand, and if God gives his blessing, can also accept in faith. That is the meaning of the great popular missionary advance towards which the Church is preparing at the present hour. It is not only a question of the fact that the Gospel is preached in a realistic and popular manner, but above all that it is taught correctly ( Augsb. Bek. Vll). That is why people's missionary work is not possible without serious reflection on the teaching of the Church, as it is expressed in her confession. This series of publications "Confessing Church" aims to serve this reflection. The informal booklets will cover all the burning questions the Church is charged with answering at the present hour. In connection with the theological working group of the people's mission in the Bavarian regional church, the commissioner of the regional bishop's teacher Theodor Ellwein-Augsburg and pastor Christian Stoll-Munich are the editors . Initially, the following booklets will be published:

  • Issue 1: Riederauer Theses on the People's Mission
